Death Trap

Hey everyone! It's a nice rainy day in Boston. At least it is offering some relief from the hot
So I don't have anything interesting to write about, but I still felt the need to say something. I have so much to write about (recent Banff trip, Sox game, new restaurants we must try) but those require some pictures and time, so those will come later. But I did want to share with everyone the reason why you may never see me again (unless you see me on a daily basis these days, like Steph). And the reason for that is my love for grilling on what I would like to call THE DEATH TRAP. One of these days I am going to go back to grilling on Big Bertha, and yes, I just named our shitty old grill with no bottom to it. But as there is no gas left in Big Bertha, I'm stuck using Little Shithole (please help in coming up with a better name). This grill is seriously out to get me. I have unsuccessfully been able to grill burgers for dinner the past two nights because of this evil thing. Whenever I go into the house and leave it unsupervised, I always run out of the house minutes later screaming FIRE FIRE FIRE! Any drop of grease will cause it to burst into flames. Even after Steph thoroughly cleaned it I was still blowing at the flames, attempting to blow out the fire that encompassed the entire grill. Even turning the gas off is unsuccessful in putting the flames out. On Monday the flames hit my hand, and why it did not burn my fingers, it did burn the little hairs off my thumb and left my fingers with messy soot all over them. So I just wanted to warn everyone- beware of our grill. And don't use it after drinking any of my famous homemade sangria (ok ok, it was boxed wine- but it still tastes fabulous!). Hopefully we can tame the grill down a bit so that it does not catch on fire every time I turn my back on it.
Anyways, for everyone who is out of town, the Yankees are in Boston this weekend, so that will definitely be interesting! And Nicole moves in this weekend, so that will be wonderful as well!
And this is for Denise, but I finally made it over to Al's on State Street- it is just as amazing as you mentioned it was many many years ago :)
And I am on a hunt of a good book to read, if anyone has any suggestions. I just finished the book, Chasing Harry Winston, by Lauren Weisberger, which was a fun summer read.
Hope to hear from everyone soon!
<3 Karl
