So I really ought to be a contributor to this blog seeing as I don't honestly do much with my life, and have plenty of time to write in it. However, I don't have much interesting to say, but I shall try.
On Monday I dropped my car off to get fixed near where Andrew worked at the Bike Shop (ie. near BU) and then I walked all the way home. BAD IDEA. It's been like 90 degrees out the last couple of days. ugh. So today I went to go pick it up, and I took the T. Not that our apartment is remotely conveniently located a T trip away from BU. It took me close to an hour, and was still brutally hot.
So I wrote this in an email, but I am so excited. I might actually have landed a job! After all this stress, I'm starting to think that life has a way of working itself out. Or, I dunno, that fate has some hand in everything. I interviewed at ADD Inc. back in April, and I loved the position, and they loved me. Unfortunately they took someone else who was a little bit more qualified than I am. For the past 3-ish months since, I've been having a really tough time finding a different co-op job. The July 1st start date has come and gone and my advisor is hassling me to find a job, basically by my own means. Just one day after finding out that I didn't get the job that I interviewed for last week, my advisor emailed me to say the ADD needs another intern. I told her to send my resume in again. This morning - mid teeth brushing - my phone rings and it is my new best friend, Jen Silver, HR lady for ADD Inc., wondering if I am still looking for a job. So in so many words I say, HELL YES. She asks when I can start, I say, Monday. Now I am just waiting for an official call back to confirm everything. I was seriously hyperventilating when I got off the phone with her. Haha. It's been weirdly stressful, discouraging, etc. My dad is ready to storm down the co-op office's doors demanding some kind of refund because of how much they sucked in this process. Everytime I talk to him on the phone he always screams, "But don't they guarantee you a job, isn't this why you are at Northeastern, isn't this why you aren't going to graduate for an extra year!?!?" Haha.
Anyway, maybe now I can actually not be poor and in debt anymore. And...I will go out anywhere, even if there's a cover!! Ha!
I hope everyone is doing great. The trip to LA sounds like it was a blast! Now we just need Steph and Chris to sign up for the blog!
PS. It looks like they've arrested two of the people involved in the shooting near our apt. Thank God! And the little boy is in stable condition. yay.
